Angling Trust's National Teams and Competition Group announce the International Sea Angling Teams for 2017

The National Teams and Competition Group of the Angling Trust are delighted to announce the International teams for 2017. The squads selected are:

Mens Shore squad:

Bill Lindfield, Andy Gallacher, Ian Dancey, Ian Bowell, Toby Oldfield, Henry Randell, Tom Bagnall, Richard Yates, Saul Page, Kenny McCoy, Gareth Griffiths, Darren Newland, Julian Shambrook, Samuel Hudson, Kirk Watson, Chris Snow, Rob Marshall, Dean Conway, George Smith, Dave Lane, Mike Groves, Ollie Hopkins, Ian Golds and Malcolm Stote.

Ladies Shore squad:

Saul Page, Richard Yates, Kenny McCoy, Gareth Griffiths, Darren Newland, Julian Shambrook (reserve), Bill Lindfield (2nd reserve), and Ian Golds (manager).

FIPS-M 25th World Ladies Shore Angling Championships to be held in Langebaan, South Africa from 4th-11th November 2017:

Heather Lindfield, Rebecca Adams, Nikki Frewin, Kimberley Lawn, Rachael Jarman, Pauline Ferry (reserve), Mark Hurcombe (manager), and Pauline Ferry (assistant manager).

FIPS-M 26th World Youth Shore Angling Championships to be held in Ambleteuse (Cote d’Opale) France from 15th-22nd July 2017:

Callum Graham, Charlie Tudball, Rory Eastlake, Joseph Smith, Rhys Hayward and Malcolm Stote (manager).

FIPS-M 17th World Junior Shore Angling Championships to be held in Ambleteuse (Cote d’Opale) France from 15th-22nd July 2017 :

Ben Eggleton (new cap), Riley Price (new cap), Adam Malloy, Thomas Ryder, Ben Cloake, David Graham (manager) and Chris Clark (assistant manager).

FIPS-M 26th World Big Game Fishing Championships to be held in Albufeira (Algarve), Portugal 2017:

Bob Challis (manager/squad member), Jack Challis, Andy Atkins and Peter Bailey.

FIPS-Mer World Clubs Angling Championships to be held in La Tremblade, France from 13th-20th May 2017.

SALC Home Youth Shore Championships in Wales:

SALC Home Boat Championships in Scotland:

Steve Batchelor, John Bellamy, Brett Lomas, Peter Bailey, Gary Greoghegan, Cliff Williams (reserve), John Wright (non travelling 2nd reserve) and Steve Batchelor (manager).

(Dates are to be announced for the SALC Home International Championships from the host nations).

This year there will be no Junior Home International team selected.

England Boat Team formally selected last year for the World Championships in Croatia from 29th April-6th May:

Rolf Marschalek, Gareth Galbraith, Mark Smith, Cliff Newbold, Matt Osborne, Martin Bobbett (reserve), Neil Bryant (manager) and Rolf Marschalek (assistant manager).

The Angling Trust would like to wish all the England teams the very best of luck when competing in the World Championships and Home Internationals this year.

FIPS-M New World Pairs Championships announcement:

There are some exciting times ahead with the FIPS-M new World Pairs Championships which kick off during March/April next year in Spain. Each nation will be allowed to submit three pairs. The Angling Trust National Team & Competition Group will be hosting an open pairs competition during September fished to FIPS-M regulations with the top three pairs on the day going forward to represent England in the World Championship. Anyone can take part as long as they are Individual members of the Angling Trust. Income from the pair’s event will be split between the three successful pairs to help towards their participation fees. More details will be announced in the coming months.
