Terrific Tony lands place in Fish 'O' Mania final
Ninety-five anglers braved the windy conditions at the latest Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier at Monk Lakes in Kent to provide an extremely close match with seven competitors exceeding the magical 100lb mark.
First place went to previous finalist Tony Curd (MAP/Bait Tech) who drew peg 136 on Match Lake 4. Tony fished long pole to the island to net carp to 4lbs and F1’s on pellet for a superb 134lbs winning net.
Runner up Andrew Dearing, from Saxmundham, drew peg 16 on Puma Lake. Fishing the method feeder to the island, Andrew landed a larger stamp of fish on corn, with carp to 18lbs and a final tally of 131lbs 12oz.
Przemek Solski, from London, finished third after drawing peg 67 on Match Lake 2. Przemek fished pole and pellet for 129lbs 4oz of carp up to 12lbs.
Fourth spot went to Ross Harold with 125lbs 2oz from Peg 57 on Match Lake 2 and completing the top five was Dave Roberts with 119lbs from peg 47, also on Match Lake 2.
