The Angling Trust has announced a new partnership that will see Milton Keynes-based law firm Joseph James Law, sponsor the England Ladies Coarse Angling team for an initial period of one year.

This agreement marks the first time that Team England Ladies have had a title sponsor and the partnership with Joseph James Law will provide the team with much needed funds to support their ambitions to secure medals on the world stage. England Ladies are currently ranked number 3 in the world and will look to improve on that position when they head to Poland in August to compete in the 25th FIPS-ed Coarse Angling World Championships for Ladies and the competition will be held on the Wroclaw/Oder canal.

Joseph James Law was founded by passionate angler Andrew Joseph James Settle and the firm offer services in a number of areas, including Sports & Media Law, Debt Recovery, Insolvency, Employment Law, Dispute Resolution, Commercial Law, Professional Negligence, Medical Negligence and Banking Litigation.

Ben Thompson, Senior Competitions & Performance Manager at Angling Trust, said: “We are delighted to establish this partnership with Joseph James Law. Team England Ladies have been amazing in raising funds to support their participation in World Championships and the additional support will allow the ladies to concentrate their efforts on planning and preparing for the upcoming competition. The agreement is for an initial one year period but we hope this is the beginning of a long lasting relationship with JJL.”

Andrew Settle, Managing Partner & Solicitor Advocate at Joseph James Law, said: “I am extremely excited to see JJL as the title sponsor of the England Ladies Coarse Angling Team. The dedication, hard work and skill of the ladies completely align with what Joseph James Law do for all of their clients. When I found out that they had no sponsor I could not turn the opportunity down. I am sure the angling community will see external investment as a positive and will continue to consider JJL as a main legal provider to the industry and those connected with it. Most importantly let’s hope the girls bring home gold. “
