09.09.10 Tees Barrage Report Confirms Anglers' Fears
The results of the second year's study tracking salmon and sea trout
migration through the Tees Barrage has confirmed anglers' long-held
belief that the barrage is a major factor hindering the recovery of
migratory fish stocks in the River Tees, which are lagging far behind
those in the neighbouring Rivers Tyne and Wear.
Of 72 fish electronically-tagged in the estuary, not a single one successfully negotiated the barrage to migrate up river to spawn.
The FIPSed 12th World Carp Championships will be hosted by Angling Trust for the very first time, and will be held at Linear Fisheries, Witney, Oxford from 7th – 10th October 2010 with 20 nations taking part in this very prestigious event.

For the full story CLICK HERE. The 32nd Small Boats Festival was held in fine weather but the easterly
wind on day one restricted the boats to within the Bolt Head to Prawle
However, on day two the wind dropped which enabled the boats for the third year running to fish the outer section (1 mile offshore) and to visit the ray marks.
