COACH LICENSING APPLICATIONS

Please note that it isn't possible to download the forms to apply for coach licensing — these are available from the Development office in Ilkeston and are normally supplied by post.

Learners undertaking their qualification through the Angling Trust's Approved Centre are provided with a licence application pack when attending their course, normally on the last day.

Coaches whose 1st4sport qualification was undertaken more than 12 months previously or through a different Approved Centre  can also apply to the Angling Trust to become Licensed.

Terms and Conditions for Licensing

Recently qualified?
To request an application pack for a first coach licence (Level 1 or Level 2):

Email  angela.woodgates@anglingtrust.net
Telephone   0115 822 4538

If you undertook your coaching course through the Angling Trust's Approved Centre you should have been offered a licensing application pack on the last day. If you didn't get one or can't locate it, we can supply a replacement — please contact the Ilkeston office by emailing angela.woodgates@anglingtrust.net or ringing 0115 822 4538.  (Please be prepared to quote the 5-digit Event Number shown in the front of your Learner portfolio and in your pre-course Welcome Pack.)

If you took your course through a different Approved Centre, the Angling Trust won't have any information about your qualification or access to any other details for you.  However you can request an application pack for a first time licence — please contact the Ilkeston office by emailing angela.woodgates@anglingtrust.net or ringing 0115 822 4538.

Been licensed before but not recently?
To renew an existing or lapsed L1 or L2 licence:

Your licence ID should show an expiry date on the front with your other details.  The relevant paperwork for renewal is normally dispatched to your home address approximately a month before the expiry date of your licence.  However if you haven't received your renewal forms, please ring or email the Ilkeston office using the contact details shown above.

If you were licensed previously but your licence has passed its expiry date, then you will no longer be covered by the insurance arranged for coaches or eligible for any benefits associated with the Licensed Coach Scheme.  However you can apply to renew your licence — please download and read the guidance for renewing and contact the Ilkeston office to request a renewal pack.

Payment of the annual licence fee
Most coach licences are issued as valid for three years, but this is subject to the required fee being paid annually.  Coaches can opt to pay this by Direct Debit at a discounted rate.

You will be sent an "Annual payment due" letter if you haven't opted to pay by annual Direct Debit.  Please note that you need to pay the annual fee in good time otherwise your licence will lapse, irrespective of the expiry date printed on your ID card.

Please remember to keep licensing administration informed if you should change your address or any other details relating to your coach licence.
