Help us Combat Fish Theft The Angling Trust is working with the Environment Agency in the South East to run a Voluntary Bailiff Service. We want to prove that well trained volunteers can have key part to play in stopping illegal fishing, poaching and fish theft. We then hope to roll the scheme out right around the country. If you want to get involved just click the image above.

North East Region

Welcome to The North East Region

This new section of the Angling Trust website gives you an overview of how The Angling Trust works in the North East Region.

In the North East we are currently working closely with the Environment Agency who already run successful Angling Forums. We have recently held development meetings in the Tyne, Wear and Tees catchments to involve stakeholders from across the region in our plans to take on the administration of the North East Forums. Meeting notes from these three meetings can be found at the bottom of the page. We have now formed a steering group to guide us through the transition period as the EA hand over control of the Forums to The Angling Trust. The steering group includes representatives from both coarse and game anglers in all three catchments.

The next Forum meeting will take place in the Tyne catchment.

Tyne
The River Tyne

The Forum currently holds three meetings a year, one in each of the key river catchments, to ensure that anglers from the Tyne, Tees and Wear all get the chance to have a meeting focused on their river. Meeting notes from these meetings along with copies of presentation slides will also be found at the bottom of this page as they become available.

We would like to express our thanks to the Environment Agency Fisheries Team in the NE for all it's help and encouragement and especially to Paul Frear who has played a key role in helping to ensure that the transition from EA run forums to AT forums is a smooth one.
