Help us Combat Fish Theft The Angling Trust is working with the Environment Agency in the South East to run a Voluntary Bailiff Service. We want to prove that well trained volunteers can have key part to play in stopping illegal fishing, poaching and fish theft. We then hope to roll the scheme out right round the country. East of England Forum

East of England Region

The forum which is one of the eight across England and was brought about to provide focus at Regional level within the Angling Trust. It also has a key role to play in working at both regional and local level with the Environment Agency, providing consultation and partnership on fisheries and angling.

The Angling Trust East of England Forum is an open meeting which is held three or four times a year and provides an opportunity for fishing clubs, associations, individual anglers and all who care about angling a chance to feedback their views to both the Angling Trust and the Environment Agency on a range of important subjects.  This is your opportunity to influence the decisions, strategies and help identify common issues that impact angling across the region. The Forum will also allow anglers and clubs the opportunity to get involved in local projects and initiatives.

The forums are supported by the Environment Agency and are funded by rod licence money. The Environment Agency attends all meetings to share plans, listen to anglers concerns, answer questions and address problems.

As can be seen from the diagram below, the Eastern Region is sub divided into 7 catchment based consultatives to provide the local framework. Some of this consultative structure has been in place for a number of years, whilst some areas have little or no consultative structure.
Work is now well underway in establishing a consultative structure and representation across the region.  More details about the East Region can be found on there own website HERE
