The Angling Trust is calling on bass anglers to help us get a better deal on recreational fishing.

Together with the Bass Anglers’ Sportfishing Society (BASS), we are gathering evidence on the economic impacts on charter boats, the tackle trade and the local economy of the unfair landing restrictions that were imposed on recreational bass anglers last December.

The Trust will be carrying out a number of surveys to assess this and are appealing to bass anglers to complete a survey being conducted by Southampton University. It should take no more than five minutes.

The survey can be found at surveymonkey.co.uk/r/seabass2016 and the findings will be used to put forward a case to ministers to seek to influence the outcome of the Council of European Fisheries meeting in December 2016.
