26.03.10  Government in the Dock over 'Illegal' River Basin Plans The Angling Trust and WWF have today launched a legal challenge over inadequate plans to safeguard the health of rivers and lakes in England. Lodging the documents at the High Court is the first step in the process of applying for a judicial review of the government’s River Basin Management Plans.

25.03.10  Angling Trust Stops Diggers in their Tracks On Tuesday 9th March, the Angling Trust was contacted by concerned anglers on the River Loddon, a Thames tributary, who noticed that contractors for the EA were cutting down trees on the banks of the river as part of a programme of flood defence works. By Thursday 11th, the work had been stopped.

21.03.10  Angling's 'Movers and Shakers' Meet to Discuss Angling and the London 2012 Olympics Representatives from a number of organisations involved in the promotion and development of angling met in London on 16th March, for preliminary discussions to explore what opportunities there might be to showcase angling in the context of the 2012 London Olympics.

Cumbria Fishing Festival 2010

17.03.10  Second Cumbria Fishing Festival announced for May 15th-23rd 2010 Following its successful debut in 2009, Cumbria - the  Lake District - is to host its  second Fishing Festival in the Spring of 2010. The Festival will run from the 15th to the 23rd of May, and will feature an expanded range of some fifty angling activities aimed at anglers and non-anglers alike, along with a new online pre-booking and pre-payment system.
