29.06.18  Bass Bag Limit Hopes Confirmed As Estimates of Recreational Removals Are Slashed

Hopes of re-establishing a bag limit for bass this year took a leap forward today when revised scientific advice was published estimating a whopping 87 per cent decrease in the estimated impact of recreational fishing in 2016 compared to the figures published last year.

Scientists are now estimating recreational removals from 2016 were only 212t compared to 1627t estimated last year which lead to a ban on keeping any recreationally-caught bass at all in 2018.
