Chris Yates Book Signing to Support Angling Trust

The Lost Diary by Chris Yates

Book Signing
Without doubt, Chris Yates is an angler and writer of renown. His latest book, ‘THE LOST DIARY’ was indeed, just that; lost, then found. Written in 1981, it was accidentally packed away with his Christmas decorations. He promised an old friend that should he ever find that diary, they could publish it; Chris was true to his word.
Published by ‘Unbound’ in 2013, ‘THE LOST DIARY’ is an account of his fishing on Redmire Pool from April-September 1981. A trade edition has recently been released with a variant binding. With a sub-title of ‘A summer fishing in pursuit of golden scales’ this brightly-bound book is on now on sale at River Reads bookshop in Torrington, Devon, and they are currently taking orders for copies signed by Chris who will be at their shop in Torrington on Saturday 17th May, 2014 from 10.30am to 3.30pm.

Chris Yates signing books
As previously with other signings, they will be raising money for Angling Heritage (Chris pictured above is a trustee) and this year the Angling Trust will also receive £1 for each signature.  In addition, Stephen Harper of Harper Fine Angling Books has donated a signed limited edition print number 412, entitled: ‘The Monster Pike’. This superb print will be raffled to raise money for Angling Heritage, and at £1 each; tickets can be purchased either through River Reads, at the Barbel Society Conference in Kenilworth on the 4th May, or on the day of the book-signing at the shop.  Contact for further details.
Film Showing
In conjunction with this special event, The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington, is screening the award-winning film, ‘Kiss the Water’ which is based on the life of legendary fly tier, Megan Boyd.  For tickets, contact Caroline at the Plough on 01805 624624.  There are two screenings; one on Friday 16th May (p.m.) and one on Saturday 17th May (a.m.)
Whether or not you’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in Chris’s company, don’t miss this rare opportunity to visit the lovely town of Torrington, and spend a little time with someone who is indeed a legend in his own lifetime.
