Fishingmegastore Championing the Angling
Trust
Promoting the sport of fishing is always high on the agenda for Fishingmegastore, so much so that Fishingmegastore.com
supports Get Hooked on Fishing and the Angling Trust to get more kids and families into fishing. However it is Fishingmegastore's concern for better waterways, fisheries and the wider natural environment that has led to a closer relationship with the Angling Trust.
Fishing Megastore is staffed by deeply passionate anglers who care about environmental conservation of our waterways, creating sustainable fisheries, and working towards better water quality.
This is great news for the Angling Trust because our relationship increases the visibility of our aims and objectives in fighting for the future of fishing. Through Fishingmegastore's vast social media channels and huge following, anglers are becoming more familiar with the work of the Angling Trust and its campaigns and legal action to protect fish stocks.
Our work together also helps our joint aim to increase the number of anglers participating in fishing for fun and in competitions.
-"What type of rod do I need to buy?"
-"Where can I fish?"
-"What a rod license do I need?"
-"What species are available in my local rivers and lakes?"
...and so on.
With this in mind, Fishingmegastore hold two free open weekends each year where help and advice is available for beginners, newcomers and even experienced anglers.
This is the UK's biggest and best free angling show where famous names in fishing congregate on the 30,000 square ft Megastore with anglers traveling from far and wide to meet celebrity and well-known anglers like Matt Hayes, Mick Brown, Hywel Morgan, Mike Thrussell, Paul Young, Ian Gordon and Scott McKenzie.
Customers get to pick the brains of these knowledgeable anglers and learn all the latest tips and techniques on how to get more from fishing.
Additionally most of Fishingmegastore's friendly, helpful staff are experienced anglers who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience and therefore help get more people out fishing.
For example, being aware of relevant laws, health and safety issues and how to help preserve the environment by respecting access laws etc.
This includes simple things like making sensible decisions about where to fish, wading safely, wearing and maintaining flotation devices, being aware of power cables and dangers around steep banks and so on.
Camping and "bivvying" are also becoming more popular, so making sure that anglers are aware of the cumulative effect of leaving or not collecting litter after they have been fishing and how this can destroy a site's beauty and endanger wildlife is really important. Therefore this partnership will create a greater appreciation and respect for angling rights and responsibilities.
Essentially Fishingmegastore champion the credible initiatives that promote the sport of fishing, and the Angling Trust and Get Hooked on Fishing are proud to work alongside them.
With Fishingmegastore's backing the Angling Trust can achieve a broader voice and a stronger mandate to make fishing more accessible, safer and enjoyable for all.
